From the idea to the work of art
Starting with the Annaberg Lace Making Days, the Erzgebirge Museum is presenting an exhibition of Prague craftswomen from the Educational Association of Arts and Crafts in Prague. The individual work steps in various handicraft techniques are shown.

Model railroad country Erzgebirge
It is the largest of its kind in Europe. The 1-gauge layout in Thermalbad Wiesenbad, OT Schönfeld. In a hall with around 660 meters of track, past 450 buildings and a landscape recreated from the surroundings, 30 trains run under computer control.

The Mineralogical Museum
The museum provides an insight into the tin mine's mineral collection, tin as a raw material over the course of time as well as special features of the clean rock and various works of art relating to local mining. It houses almost 2000 mineral specimens.

The mine
A world of its own is hidden inside the clean mountain, criss-crossed by over 300 km of tunnels and passages. After the end of mining, stations with original machines were set up on the 2nd level, 100m deep. These & geological features are waiting to be explored.

Mining: The outdoor area

Carl Emanuel Wolff: Wild boars
It is said that wild boars foraging for food once uncovered the first tin ore in Ehrenfriedersdorf. This left its mark on the town - and so the patinated gunmetal bronze by the Dresden sculptor also contains pewter and traces of work, worked in with bare hands.

Thalheim in miniature
The display area shows around 40 models of houses and monuments from Thalheim. The tradition began in 1962, when a grandfather created a hiking site for his grandson. Since then, the site, which used to be a landfill site, has grown.
