In this vacation program, children follow in the footsteps of the young Karl Schmidt-Rottluff. After exploring the exhibition, they use watercolors and water-filled brushes to create their own landscape paintings brimming with creativity and imagination.
Open wildlife school - discover the animal world through play
During the vacations, the open wildlife school invites families to playfully discover the local wildlife. With quizzes, puzzles and creative upcycling ideas, individual feeding stations are created from teacups - learning, handicrafts and environmental protection all in one.
Vacation offer: Painting with earth colors
Natural colors are created from loam, clay, porphyry, sand and earth for very special works of art. During this creative vacation activity, children can try out different painting techniques and create their own picture on a stretcher frame to take home with them.

Fossil Thumb Theater
What did Chemnitz look like 291 million years ago? In the excavation tent, visitors discover animals, plants, and fossils from the Petrified Forest. Afterward, they create their own flip book that brings the prehistoric world back to life.
